December Progress ReportWell, there's not a lot to report in this second update. Lisa got her computer back, and withmore memory this time. She's also got a new Zip drive, and is backing up the hard-drive on a regular basis. I'll talk to her about the PDF version of the Intro Kit when I think she won't kick my ass for asking her. :)The text of the book is almost done, although I still still have lots to do on the "Secrets of Purgatory" section. The rules are holding up really well, although playtesting is still forcing me to tweak the occasional Power in order to keep it within the realm of the unabusive. The next priority is to get editing and art started. Carisa Yardis is helping me with editing, since she's local and will work for free. John Hackett is still heading up the artists roster, with some help from Catharine Robinweiler. I'm also still talking to Dava and Chippy (of SLA Industries fame) to get a few pieces, but they want actual money for their art! Still, it would be nice to get a piece or two... The playtesters are fantastic. I'm feeling more and more confident that the game is solid, which means that the stress is now whether anyone will recognize that when the game is released. Oh well, at least I can be a goth if the game fails utterly. The t-shirts are still planned for, although they'll probably wait until Norwescon. I have a few more t-shirt ideas, so if the game does well, expect more stuff to wear. well, I bought the Palm Pilot. I still feel like it was an impulse purchase, but it sure is useful! It's kept me on track much better than my old paper notebook, and its also a great attention-getter at gatherings of friends or co-workers. I love all the downloadable software for it, and I even found a Palm Pilot version of "The book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi. Now I have the words of the master with me wherever I go. I should probably say something about Norwescon. It will be the big release of Purgatory, and will be the first time Atomic Hyrax is at a convention with a table. We're planning to have artist's signings, product raffles, and other secret surprises. We'll also be running one or two Purgatory World Games, the first games run ever! We'll be sharing space and manpower with Lion's Paw, the makers of "Earth & Sky". Scooter (the guy who wrote Earth & Sky) is an old friend, and we've been working together on our seperate projects for a while now. We're trying to run our games so that you can come to Norwescon and play both "Earth & Sky" and "Purgatory" with no time conflicts. We hope to see you a Norwescon!
